In the matter of salvation, why would we
think we can be saved anyway we want, instead of being saved
the way God says to be saved? Could it be that we become so
selfish and just want what we want?
Jesus is the one who calls us – invites
us to come to Him and learn from Him to be saved (Matthew
11:28-29; John 14:6; John 8:30-36). So, we can be free of
sins domination (Romans 6:12) if we will just listen to the
author of eternal salvation. Notice that coming to Jesus and
answering His call means a willingness on our part to obey
Jesus – follow Jesus.
Jesus is the One who shed His blood so we
could have the forgiveness of our sins and only in Jesus is
there salvation (Acts 4:12). We have a choice to make. Will
we accept the salvation Jesus offers or will we reject Him?
Jesus is not asking us to be saved any way we want. Jesus is
offering salvation on His terms. Matthew 16:24-25
